How much does a laptop screen replacement cost?

Most PC laptop screens are $220–$380 fitted. MacBook display assemblies are higher — we'll quote exactly before ordering.

Do you replace MacBook batteries?

Accepted Answer

Yes, including swollen batteries (the dangerous kind). We use quality cells and recycle the old one properly.

My laptop spilled liquid — should I turn it on?

Accepted Answer

No. Power it off, unplug it, don't try to dry it with rice or a hairdryer. Bring it in same-day if possible. The faster we can clean the board, the better the outcome.

Can you make my old laptop faster?

Accepted Answer

Usually yes — most pre-2020 laptops get a huge speed lift from an NVMe SSD upgrade and a Windows refresh, often under $300 total.

Warranty on laptop repairs?

Accepted Answer

90 days on the repair itself, plus the manufacturer warranty on any new parts (battery, screen, SSD, etc.).

Is it worth repairing my laptop or should I buy a new one?

Our rule of thumb: if the repair costs less than about half the price of a comparable new machine, and the laptop is under 6 years old, repairing is better value. We tell you honestly when it isn't, and we'll move your files to the new machine instead.

Can a water damaged laptop be repaired?

Accepted Answer

Often yes. We clean the board in an ultrasonic bath, treat corrosion and replace damaged charging components. Success depends on what was spilled and how quickly it comes in, so we assess first and tell you the odds before you commit.

My laptop screen is black but it sounds like it's running. What's wrong?

Accepted Answer

Usually the backlight, the display cable, the panel itself, or the graphics chip. Plugging in an external monitor tells us which within a couple of minutes, and the diagnostic is free.

There are lines or flickering across my screen. Can that be fixed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Vertical or coloured lines almost always mean the panel or its cable, both of which we replace. If the same lines show on an external monitor, it's the graphics side and we quote that separately.

Question 10

Can a laptop hinge be repaired?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and it's one of the most common jobs we do. Cracked hinge mounts get rebuilt properly so the lid holds again. We don't just glue the case back together.

Can you fix a laptop keyboard, or does the whole thing get replaced?

Accepted Answer

Both are possible. Sticking keys and spill-damaged keyboards are usually a keyboard or top-case swap, including MacBook butterfly keyboards.

Can a laptop battery be repaired?

Accepted Answer

Batteries get replaced rather than repaired, because the cells wear out. If yours only lasts an hour, or the case is bulging, bring it in and we'll fit a new one.
